After he graduated from Liverpool University, Mason became assistant Government Architect in Baghdad under
J.M. Wilson in 1920. They did most of their work in Baghdad together. Some of his individual projects in Baghdad are the Post and Telegraph Office (1929) and the
Palace of Roses (1933).
