Notes
For this Modernist building, the architect was inspired by a theme used in one of his Italian pavilions at a 1954 Zagreb exhibition: that of an inverted pyramid. The lateral facades, much smaller than the principal ones, take on the complex shape of the staircases. The Hotel du Lac was one of the first big hotels built after Tunisia's independence. It is now under the threat of demolition.
